Marriage can enhance your life together, provide deep joy and wonder, and offer life-sustaining strength in your relationship. We in the Anglican Church of Canada pray for your happiness, joy, and growth in God's love as you embark upon this commitment.

Marriage is a relationship between a woman and a man who join together in love and who seek mutual growth and unity in that love.  In marriage people hope to give and to find comfort, help, delight, and tenderness, and may decide to have and bring up children.

Marriage is a relationship of total commitment in which the partners care for each other in good times and bad.  In marriage each partner is linked to the family of the other.  In the church we believe that marriage is the gift of God for the support and growth of both partners as they give and receive love in their own relationship and in the world.

When both partners in a relationship desire to publicly acknowledge their commitment, and to request and accept public support in this lifelong commitment, it is time to plan a marriage service.
