The Hon. Yuen Pau Woo is an Anglican, a member of St. Catherine's Capilano church and a member of the small contemporary choral group "Joyful Voice" which sings occasionally at services at St. Catherine's.

In November 2016, Pau was appointed to the Canadian Senate and spends his weeks in Ottawa sitting as an Independent Senator for BC.  He became Leader of the Independent Senators Group (ISG) in September 2017. In this position, he has a crucial role in leading the newly created ISG (which now forms a majority in the Senate) as the Senate moves into new areas of responsibility and action. This is one of the most significant changes in Canadian history in how our federal Parliament operates.

St. Catherine’s parishioner Robb Watt will interview Pau about the changing role of the Senate and will then facilitate a Question and Answer session.  Pau is looking for feedback from the public around these Senate changes and welcomes an opportunity to discuss the evolving Senate with us.

This free event is open to the public.  Please RSVP through Eventbrite (here) or by emailing scadmin@shaw.ca including the number of people who will be attending with you.
