On Sunday Sept 30 we will have our annual Blessing of the Animals service in honour of St Francis. Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association has been invited again, and will receive our generous donations. Please make your cheque payable to Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue and they will send you a tax receipt. We are also collecting old used towels and any cat supplies you might have at home that you no longer need.

VOKRA is a volunteer-driven, no-kill rescue association with a mission to end cat overpopulation and homelessness in the Lower Mainland.

VOKRA was originally founded back in 2000 with the intention of caring for bottle-feed kittens and that’s why their name stands for Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association. But what began with a handful of kittens has now grown into a full-fledged rescue organization responsible for saving more than 1,400 cats and kittens each year.

As a volunteer-driven charity, VOKRA relies on the support of their many volunteers and donors. If you’re interested in adoption or finding out how you can help visit their website at www.vokra.ca

Please invite your friends and neighbours to this service. We always have a great time visiting with all the animals, and it is a beautiful liturgy.

Like every year, we will have a memorial board in the side chapel where people can post names and/or photos of their pets, including those who have already crossed over the rainbow bridge. You are welcome to light a candle in your pet’s memory.
