A Scots Spectacular III – A Night of Celebration and Merriment
On Saturday night, January 17, 2015, St. Dunstan’s will be a place of excitement and merriment as we will be partnering with the Central Valley Community Pipe Band to host
“A Scots Spectacular III” an annual event celebrating the life of legendary Scottish poet and song writer Robbie Burns. The purpose for this year’s fundraiser is:
1. to help raise money for the Church.
2. to raise money for CVCPB’s new “Cadet Legacy Program” to purchase new kilts, kits, and band equipment
The Evening’s Festivities
The evening will be packed with something for everyone beginning with a traditional Robbie Burns dinner featuring Roast Beast, Haggis, Tatties, and Neeps. A cash bar featuring cocktails, beer, wine, and single malt scotch libations will be available to quench your thirst. A Highland Silent Auction featuring wonderful and beautiful donations from the communities of Aldergrove, and Langley including gift baskets, gift cards and gift certificates will be available for to bid on. A 50/50 draw and drawings for door prizes will be announced throughout the evening.
The Show
The most exciting part of the evening is the show which will feature the Central Valley Community Pipe Band, the Harrison Highlanders Pipe Band, Performers singing beautiful Scottish ballads and songs, and finally the incredible Highland dancing from the World Class Stave Falls Scottish Dancers and Dynamic Dance Highland Dancers. This is one night you don’t want to miss.
The Tickets and Accommodations
Tickets are $30.00 for adults and $15.00 for children 16 and under and are available by contacting Linda Varin in Administration at 604-856-5393 or in person 9:30am – 12:30pm Tuesday – Friday or by contacting Steve Gallagher or Ken Lamb at 604-756-3799 or from the Royal Canadian Legion Br 265 Aldergrove at the main Bar during business hours. Hotel Accommodations have been arranged with the Best Western Plus Country Meadows Inn located across the street from St. Dunstan’s at a rate of $95.99 + tax which includes a breakfast buffet.
