ILLUMINATE : A Gala Fundraiser for St. Hildegard’s Sanctuary
You are invited on Friday, November 30 as the community of St. Hildegard’s Sanctuary hosts its first annual ILLUMINATE gala and fundraiser.
We are delighted to announce that Luci Shaw will be the gala’s featured guest. Luci will read from her latest work of poetry, Eye of the Beholder. As an artist whose work reflects an understanding that, “Beauty is Love taking form in human lives and the works of their hands,” we know Luci Shaw as a kindred spirit and are greatly encouraged by her willingness to share her gifts with us.
The generosity of three long-standing friends of St. Hildegard’s will complement the poetry reading:
- Allen Desnoyers—musician, actor, playwright, and co-founder of Vancouver’s Pacific Theatre—will draw from his extensive talents to launch the evening.
- Writer, dancer, and poet Celeste Snowber is bringing a made-for-St.Hildegard’s piece bound to inspire.
- Celtic harpist/vocalist Clare Morgan—whose music has often held our community’s sacred space—will perform a selection of pieces to close the evening.
Throughout the evening we will be graced with the piano stylings of our beloved music director, Ruben Federizon. There will also be plenty of time to enjoy gourmet refreshments and place bids in the silent auction.
