An acclaimed children’s choir, an award-winning cathedral choir, and a leading Canadian gospel choir – 125 voices in all – join together to mark Vancouver’s 125th anniversary in a joyful concert featuring the music of Paul Halley. Halley is the winner of five Grammy Awards for his contributions as writer and performer on recordings by the Paul Winter Consort, of which he was a m ember for eighteen years. The choirs are thrilled that Paul Halley and his son, Nick, will be joining them in these concerts.

Each ensemble will sing on their own before combining to present the world premiere of The Dawning, a work commissioned by the three choirs to celebrate Vancouver’s 125th anniversary. Halley draws on Gregorian melody, traditional Gospel spiritual, and poetry by the renowned Hebrew poet, Judah Halevi, to create a work that weaves these distinct elements into a rich and exciting new musical tapestry.

Full of infectious rhythms and joyful singing, Halleyluia! will be an unforgettable evening of music as 125 voices celebrate Vancouver’s 125th anniversary by lifting the roof off of one of Vancouver’s most beloved concert spaces!
