Heading for the annual BC Anglican Youth Movement meeting in Kamloops
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, fifteen youth and youth leaders from the Diocese travelled to the British Columbia and Yukon Anglican Youth Movement's fall conference in Kamloops.

It was a fantastic weekend of teaching, fellowship and madcap activities (all of which were participated in by our Primate, Fred Hiltz). Here, some of those participants share their experiences of the conference and pick their highlights:

"This was my first weekend at BCYAYM and it certainly won't be my last. This weekend seemed to be themed towards togetherness in faith, in love, in friendship and in hope. From exploring the movie "Lars and the Real Girl" to having a discussion with the Primate, to the healing service on the final night; this weekend renewed my spiritual faith and my faith in people."
- Tara Dudley, St. John the Divine, Squamish

"The healing services are an extremely powerful spiritual experience. Primate Fred Hiltz, Gordon Light (Bishop of the Anglican Parishes of the Central Interior) and Dan Hines (theme leader) were an amazing pastoral force. It was great to see everyone participate in the games, song sessions and dances. The friends you make at BCYAYM are friends you make for life."
- Jessica Fricker, St. George, Fort Langley

"So much happened this weekend, all of which could be compared to the best times of my life. The only way I could describe this weekend would be with one word: unique. If only there could have been one more day!"
- Ryan McDonnell, St. George, Maple Ridge.

Primate Fred Hiltz was with youth at the Kamloops meeting of the BCAYM
"This was an awesome weekend, one of the best of my life. I really enjoyed the theme sessions focused around the movie "Lars and the Real Girl" and I learnt a lot. As well, I had many fun times and met many awesome people. All in all, an unforgettable weekend."
- Cameron Gutjahr, St Mary's Kerrisdale

"The sessions were revolutionary - using a movie to move the discussion ahead. And the dance was great, as always. We even got to go to the zoo!"
- Ward Cooper, St. George, Maple Ridge

Next year, the BCYAYM conference will be held in our Diocese! For more information on BCYAYM, visit their website at www.bcyaym.bc.ca or speak to Phil Colvin at Synod Office.
