I am surprised that the editor claims he does not understand why the letters to TOPIC seemed to have dried up (“Something,s missing from this opinion page,” January TOPIC). If TOPIC were to communicate fairly and without bias then we would not find it necessary to seek other means of getting information and getting at the truth. I am certain that the majority of Anglicans in Canada are unaware of the fact that a majority of our bishops by their actions wish to take us out the world wide communion of 72 million Anglicans.

The two articles in TOPIC on the ordination of women as Anglican clergy (January TOPIC) were very inspiring. Both made us aware that struggles of issues of faith are not new, nor easy.

At St. Cuthbert’s, we are blessed with the love and assistance of the Rev. Patricia Reed. Pat was ordained with that first group of Canadian women in 1976. She served parishes in Cariboo Diocese.

She continues outspoken in matters of faith and caring and is a tower of Christian strength and of love to all who have been blessed to know her.
