St. John's Anglican Church, Sardis,enjoyed the first of many celebrations to be held this year to commemorate its 100th Anniversary.
An "Old Time Service" was held on February 12, 2012, using the King Edward version of the prayer book. Reverend Dale Yardy delivered an enthusiastic sermon and was assisted by Reverend Larry Adkins.Some parishioners dressed in period clothing. Organist Doug Johnson and a choir led by Lorna MacLaren provided music.
After the service, a pot luck lunch was held in the Church Hall.
The next celebration, an "Evening song service" with contemporary music, will be held on April 29, 2012. All are welcome to attend.
