At the end of November 2017, Kyla Hackett the Outreach Manager for Reconciliation Canada circulated a Final Thank You to Churches and a Walk for Reconciliation Summary Report.

Here is her letter to churches and please find attached below the PDF of the report.

Dear Friends in Reconciliation,

This year has been a significant year for the reconciliation movement and for Reconciliation Canada as we completed our two-year initiative, Reconciliation in Action: A National Engagement Strategy, a Canada 150 signature project. We are extremely grateful for all the support from our partners, friends and supporters who have made this all possible.

On September 24, 2017, the initiative culminated in the Walk for Reconciliation where 50,000 people of all backgrounds walked together to show their shared commitment to reconciliation. The Walk served as an inspiring call to action for all Canadians and Indigenous Peoples across Canada to move forward in a new way. The Reconciliation Expo that took place at Strathcona Park following the Walk was the first of its kind in the city. It was a unique opportunity for everyone to discover what reconciliation means to them and the role they play in the reconciliation movement.  This historic event has generated significant public interest and has further strengthened the national dialogue on reconciliation.

This would not have been possible without your support. On behalf of everyone at Reconciliation Canada, thank you for your commitment to moving reconciliation forward in the country.

If you would like to share your thoughts about your experience participating in the Walk for Reconciliation, please fill out our Walk Feedback Form by visiting: http://reconciliationcanada.ca/walk-for-reconciliation-2017/thank-you-merci/.

Thank you!
