On Thursday, August 8th a distinguished visitor to the Diocese of New Westminster was introduced to everyone present at the Synod Office that afternoon. The visitor was the Right Reverend Peter Ichiro Shibusawa, Bishop of Chubu, a diocese of Nippon Sei Ko Kai (The Anglican Church in Japan).
Bishop Shibusawa had journeyed to Vancouver to pay his to respects the Reverend Dr. Cyril Powles who passed away on July 26th and speak at the Memorial Eucharist which took place at St. Mark's, Kitsilano on August 9th.
While visiting Vancouver, Bishop Shibusawa was invited to preach at the principal Eucharist at Holy Cross Japanese-Canadian Anglican Church, Sunday, August 11th, 2013.
