In the confirmation liturgy, a bishop lays hands on and prays for those who are making a public affirmation of Christian faith within an Anglican tradition.  The Bishop also receives into the Anglican Church those from other ecclesial traditions who drawn to adopting Anglicanism as their spiritual home.  Finally, in this same confirmation liturgy the Bishop prays for those who are already within an Anglican tradition who wish to reaffirm their baptismal vows. Confirmation, reception, and the reaffirmation of baptismal vows all come after a time of careful preparation and study.
