 ne 7.  The Annual Big Lunch started at St. David's in 2012 as part of an 
 international movement to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee 
 and overcome the isolation many experience today.  \nSt. David's Big Lun
 ch block-party-style gathering is open to parishioners\, friends and neigh
 bours to share a meal together and rejoice in the many blessings that make
  our community and out country so vibrant.  \nEntertainment includes the
  skirl of pipe-major George Panagiotou’s bagpipes to kick off the event 
 and includes tributes\, greetings and a sing-a-long led by local musician 
 Allan Desnoyers. \nAt a time when divisions in society are heightened\, i
 t is heartening to see that the Big Lunch continues to break down barriers
  and be inclusive and welcoming to all. In the words attributed to Irish p
 oet William Yeats: “a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet”
