Chamber Music at St. Paul’s Presents: Beethoven and Beyond, works by Beethoven, Copland, Bloch, and Kreisler, featuring Nancy DiNovo, violin and Monica Pfau, piano. November 17 at 2:00 PM.  

 St. Paul’s Anglican Church presents a new series of chamber music concerts featuring an impressive lineup of internationally acclaimed musicians. Concerts will take place on: November 17, 2019, January 12, March 8, and a fourth date in 2020 to be determined.  

The series will kick off on Sunday, November 17 at 2 PM, the Sonata Op. 12, No. 1 for Violin and Piano by Ludwig Van Beethoven and the Violin Sonata by Aaron Copeland, performed by violinist Nancy DiNovo and pianist Monica Pfau. The duo will also present works by Ernest Bloch and Fritz Kreisler.

 

The Artists:

Violinist NANCY DINOVO is a former member of the St. Louis, Toronto and Boston Symphony Orchestras and founding concertmaster of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. In a career spanning decades, Nancy has performed in the world’s major concert halls on three continents, working with conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Sir Colin Davis, Karel Ancerl, James Levine, Sir Neville Marriner, and Christopher Hogwood.   

Pianist MONICA PFAU has achieved considerable recognition in her career as a concert pianist, adjudicator, teacher and chamber musician, performing in recitals throughout Canada, the USA and Europe.  Ms. Pfau has performed as soloist with the CBC Vancouver Orchestra under Mario Bernardi, as concerto soloist under Maestro Kazuyoshi Akiyama and as orchestral pianist for the Vancouver Symphony.
