The last service at St Monica, Horseshoe Bay was held Sunday, November 24th and the parish will close effective Saturday, November 30th, 2013. We give thanks for 62 years of ministry to the community of Horseshoe Bay and pray for the Reverend Janice Lowell and the members of the parish in this time of transition. Janice will continue for the immediate future as Associate Priest at St Francis-in-the-Wood.
ACTING DIRECTOR OF MISSION AND MINISTRY APPOINTED
The Reverend Ruth Monette has been appointed Acting Director of Mission and Ministry effective December 1st. Ruth comes to this position from her time as interim Priest-in-Charge at St Helen's, Surrey. She brings with her experience in interim ministry, program administration and faith formation, and she is a current member of the Ministry and Congregational Development Committee (MCDC).
The Reverend Roberta Fraser will be assigned as interim Priest-in-Charge at St Helen's as they complete their process of discernment in their search for a new Rector.
The Rev. Wilmer Toyoken has been appointed Priest-in-Charge (3/4 time) and without term at St Michael's, Broadway. St Michael's is a vital community and continues to grow in sustainability with a long term goal of full-time ordained leadership.
The Rev.Gail Newell, at the request of the Wardens, has been given a one year extension as Priest-in-Charge at Christ Church, Hope.
ORDINATIONS DECEMBER 8TH
On Sunday, December 8th at 4pm in Christ Church Cathedral, God-willing, Archbishop Douglas Hambidge will ordain persons to the vocational diaconate and the priesthood. (Archbishop Hambidge has graciously agreed to do this ordination at the invitation of the Metropolitan and in consultation with the Diocesan Administrator.)
NORTH VANCOUVER CLERGY RESIGNATION
The Reverend Sarah Tweedale has announced her resignation as temporary Priest-in-Charge of St Martin's, North Vancouver effective 15th January 2014. St Martin's will begin a process of discernment in preparation for its next chapter in ministry.

ORDINATION AND CONSECRATION OF THE NEW BISHOP
The Metropolitan, Archbishop Privett, has set the date of Ordination and Consecration of our new bishop as St David's Day, 2014 (Saturday, March 1st). Further information such as location and timing will be made available as it is known.
