Musician, singer, composer, pastor, Brian Doerksen is the brother of the Reverend Fr. Allen Doerksen, Vicar of St. Matthew, Abbotsford and St. Thomas, Chilliwack. This time of year he would normally be very busy leading onsite worship and various locations but of course this year of 2020 it is not possible. What a year! As Christmas nears, we are needing more than ever peace and hope in our troubled world. Unfortunately, we can’t gather together in person to share the songs and story of Christmas in public places because of Covid-19. Some won’t even be able to spend Christmas with their family and close friends because of travel restrictions as we all try and do our part to keep vulnerable ones safe.
‘Christmas At Our House with Brian Doerksen & Friends’ was created to bring the songs and story of Christmas to your family and friends at this difficult and special time of year. Filmed at Brian’s home and studio on the west coast of Canada, this is a special 1-hour concert and storytelling event that features songs from Brian’s JUNO nominated album ‘The Heart Of Christmas’. In the studio space in front of a crackling wood fire, Brian and special guests sing new songs telling the ancient story of Christmas. Back in the house, three generations of the Doerksen family, along with close friends the Siewert family gather together to share the heart and story of Christmas.
This is the kind of Christmas we can celebrate in 2020 . . . Christmas at Our House.
