HOW TO LISTEN TO A SERMON 9:30am-12:30pm 18th February 2017

What is a sermon for? And why do we spend the time and attention on them that we do?

This free seminar will focus on the skills of listening to a sermon, on the way to being the people the Holy Spirit wants to witness to Christ in our world. Facilitated by the Revd Dr Jason Byassee of VST.

Jason Byassee is the inaugural holder of the Butler Chair in Homiletics and Biblical Hermeneutics at Vancouver School of Theology. He teaches preaching, bible, leadership, church history, and writing there. 

He was previously senior pastor of Boone United Methodist Church in Boone, North Carolina from 2011-2015. There he directed eight other pastoral staff members and pastored a congregation of 1500.
