Here is an exciting opportunity to study theology with leading academics from Oxford University and elsewhere in the beautiful setting of Christ Church, Oxford. The Oxford University Theology Summer School, organized by the Department for Continuing Education, has been running for 25 years and draws participants from all over the world and from a wide variety of Christian denominations. Many of our participants come back year on year, but we are always eager to spread the news about the summer school and you may know of groups or individuals who would find this an enriching experience. Participants may apply for either for one week or for both. The weeks are 4–10 August and 11–17 August.
The theme for 2019 is “The Meaning of Sacrifice”. This is a response to the concern many have about the tensions in the Church and in the world over issues of identity, sustainability and violence.
Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis or rolling basis until 1 May 2019.
There is a limited number of places available on every seminar, and in assigning successful applicants to classes the Programme Director will pay particular attention to applicants' personal statements.
