A Requiem Eucharist in thanksgiving for the life of Bishop Jim Cruickshank will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver, BC, 690 Burrard Street at Georgia in downtown Vancouver on Saturday, January 16, 2016 @ 3pm. A live, streaming video/audio of the service will be available, please click the link.
In his kind and thoughtful way Jim left his family with very specific instructions about his funeral liturgy, and we are following his wishes. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the Sorrento Centre or to Vancouver School of Theology.
Bishops are invited to vest and process; clergy, other than those with specific roles in the liturgy, are invited to sit in the congregation.
There will be a light reception in the Cathedral nave and Parish hall at the conclusion of the service. All are invited.
Dean Peter Elliott invites any who wish to participate in a ‘crowd-sourced’ sermon to send 25 words or less on the subject, “the Gospel according to Jim Cruickshank”—highlighting themes and ideas that you have learned from Jim. Send to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 13, 2016.
Parking arrangements are being made: please check the Cathedral's website for information and updates.
