Mary Magdalene is a bit of a biblical enigma. She was the first to see the risen Christ, but that's about all we know of her...or is it? Elizabeth Schrader is an emerging academic at Duke University. Her research into Mary Magdalene has brought forward some interesting and, some might say, provocative discoveries. Was Mary's name scratched out of the Gospel of John? Was she one of the closest disciples? Was Mary Magdalene as much a foundation of faith as Peter?

On Saturday, December 14 we'll spend time listening to Elizabeth Schrader's discoveries and work together to consider what the implications might be. How might this new research impact our individual and collective theologies?

Everyone who seeks God and is willing to have their theological borders broadened is most welcome.

Tickets are $30 via Eventbrite only. Lunch will be served.

There will be no tickets at the door.

Presented in collaboration with the Vancouver School of Theology.
