The Baptism of the Lord The Baptism of the Lord The Baptism of the Lord The Baptism of the Lord The Baptism of the Lord The Baptism of the Lord The Baptism of the Lord

Sermon preached by the Right Reverend John Stephens, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster during his first episcopal visit to the Parish of All Saints, Ladner which was also the first episcopal visit of 2023.

During this visit, Bishop John celebrated Holy Communion from the BCP at 8:30am and met with that congregation in the chapel after worship. At the main 10am Celebration of the Eucharist, Bishop John preached and presided and also posthumously presented the daughter of an All Saints parishioner with her mother, Pat Sallis's medal and ribbon, naming Mrs. Sallis to the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster. She had been too ill to attend the November 5, 2022 Investiture Service and sadly, she subsequently died soon after that date.

Following the Dismissal, the sanctuary party, clergy and crucifer led the congregation outside to the Memorial Garden for the interment of the ashes of parishioner Marion Burnett. Marion's daughter, Jennifer Semenoff was the Altar Guild representative for the worship that day, read the OT and made sandwiches for the luncheon with the bishop that followed Sunday worship and the interment.
