Three months ago an unusual request came through to Diocesan Communications. We were asked if we knew of any church that might like a 35 year old Casavant pipe organ, quite small in size (1,600 Kilos and 400 pipes)that had finished its usefulness in a Vancouver church. That church had been re-purposed into a Buddhist Temple and the organ had been moved into storage.
The organ was "free to a good home" the catch was that the new owners would have to move it and install it. Well it seems that the Rev. Clarence Li and the parish of St. Hilda-by-the-Sea, Sechelt were up to the challenge and now the organ is installed and helping to lead the music in worship at the Sunshine Coast church.
