The PWRDF and Diocesan Refugee Units of the Diocese of New Westminster invite you to attend a presentation with Raphael Nyabala, Camp Coordinator, Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya on Tuesday, October 29th 7-8:30pm in the Trendell Lounge at St. John’s, Shaughnessy, 1490 Nanton Avenue, Vancouver.

Raphael is a staff member of the National Council of Churches of Kenya’s Refugee Service Project. As camp coordinator of Kakuma Refugee Camp he oversees programming for one of the largest of Kenya’s camps with a population of at least 100,000. Raphael will give a presentation on his work in the camp and the issues facing its residents as well as a more global perspective on issues facing refugees elsewhere in Kenya and East Africa. The National Council of Churches of Kenya is the Primate’s World Relief and Development program partner and PWRDF. funds Integrated Reproductive Health Care support to refugees living in the camp and in Nairobi.

Raphael’s visit is especially significant at this time when the Anglican Church of Canada through PWRDF has joined the Canadian Council of Refugees’ campaign ‘Proud to Protect Refugees’. The diocesan units are grateful to St.John’s Shaughnessy for hosting this very special event.
