Bishop Skelton is pleased to announce her appointment of Ms Caitlin Reilley Beck as the Children and Youth Ministries Coordinator for the Diocese of New Westminster. The position was expanded from a half-time post focused on youth ministries to include ministries with children following a process of review with Diocesan Council. In addition to continuing to support and build on the work of the Diocesan Youth Movement (DYM), the Coordinator will be available to parishes seeking to expand their capacity to minister with children and youth.

Caitlin has served as the Coordinator of Youth and Family Ministry at St. Philip’s Dunbar since 2012. She has been active with the DYM and helped organize an ecumenical youth ministry network on the west side of Vancouver. Previously, she served in youth and family ministry positions at parishes within the Diocese of Ottawa. Before beginning her career in ministry, she studied Inter-religious dialogue, Mission studies, and Eastern Christian studies at Saint Paul University in Ottawa and completed a Masters in Liturgical Studies at the Institute of Sacred Music at Yale. Caitlin has been active in the wider Anglican world, having served as a delegate to the Edinburgh 2010 World Mission Conference and the UN Commission on the Status of Women on behalf of the Anglican Communion.

Caitlin will begin her work with the Diocese on 1 December 2014.
