The Right Reverend Cyrus C.J. Pitman, Bishop of the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador announced his resignation August 15th, 2013, effective on the date that a new Bishop is elected at their next Diocesan Synod which will now be an Electoral Synod November 15-16, 2013.
Bishop Cyrus was consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador in 2004.
Bishop Cyrus will be taking sabbatical, September, October and November to help prepare for this major transition. The Venerable Sandra Tilley will be Administrator of the Diocese during this time period and up to the time that the new Bishop is installed.
