Herbert O’Driscoll’s long-awaited new volume of autobiographical reminiscences is available now, online and from local bookstores.  It brings together almost a hundred short memory pieces, ranging widely over his life and career, including his youth in Ireland, his student days at Trinity College Dublin, his four-decade ministry in Canada, his extensive experiences in the United States, and his later years of pilgrimage in Holy and Celtic Lands.

Herbert O’Driscoll is a highly regarded preacher and retreat leader, the prolific author of over fifty books and many hymns.  Much of his work reflects his own Celtic spirituality.  He served several parishes in and around Ottawa, was Dean of Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver and Warden of the College of Preachers in Washington, DC.  His last decade of active ministry was at the Anglican Parish of Christ Church, Elbow Park, Calgary.

This one-hour online event will be hosted by Bishop John Stephens, who is a lifelong friend of the author.  Herb will read excerpts from his new book, and be interviewed about his life and work.  Also joining in the conversation:  two other clergy well-known in this diocese who have worked closely with Herb over the years:  Robert Pynn and Richard LeSueur.  There will also be an opportunity for questions from the online audience.
