Opera repertory company Cantanti d'Oro presents highlights from two of the most romantically charged and passionate operas - Bizet's fiery Carmen, and Puccini's heartstring-tugging La Bohème. Featuring a quartet of internationally sensational up-and-coming opera singers, accompanied by collaborative pianist, maestro Richard Epp, they will lead you on a rollercoaster of emotions as they sing and narrate through two timeless classics of Romantic Opera.

This is an opportunity to hear world-class singers on the verge of launching their international careers. They have all sung on international stages, from Canada and the US, to Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Mexico, and Spain. Cantanti d'Oro has brought together this sensational quartet of talent and incredible voices to produce highlights of two of the most essential and wonderful operas in the repertory.

Lyric Soprano Shadan Saul, with her gorgeous, velvet voice will sing Don Jose's sweet girlfriend, Micaela, in Carmen, and her warm and passionate voice will bring to life the love of the poet Rodolfo's life, the elegant and deeply loving Mimi, in La Bohème. Lyric Tenor Sunny Shams will bring his rounded, powerful and passionate voice to sing the dashing and intense soldier Don Jose in Carmen, and his charming youthfulness to the young poet Rodolfo in La Bohème. Baritone Jose-Ramirez Solano, sings the hot-headed Toreador with his full, brassy and impressive baritone voice, and paints the softer expressions and the caring heart of the painter Marcello in La Bohème. Mezzo Soprano Francesca Corrado turns up the heat with her sultry dark round tones and earthy depth to portray the sensual gypsy Carmen.

These four singers will sing the highlights and narrate the stories of these two powerhouse operas, painting you the full picture of the drama and intricacies of the storyline in these operas. Collaborative Pianist and Conductor Richard Epp will provide the one man orchestra tour-de-force on the piano, as he helps paint the moods and reflect the drama with his expert touch and sensitivity and sheer knowledge of the multifaceted layers of these operas.

This production by Cantanti d'Oro will be presented in three lower mainland locations over the weekend of July 25th. The premiere performance will take place Friday night at the acoustically wondrous, and architecturally beautiful Christ Church Cathedral downtown Vancouver. Saturday evening's performance is in Aldergrove at St. Dunstan's Anglican Church, an open and inviting performance space. The third and final performance rounds out the weekend on Sunday afternoon in West Vancouver at St. Stephen's, Anglican
Church.
