The Venerable Kevin Hunt, Rector of St. James, Vancouver and Archdeacon of Burrard, and his spouse Dr. Allan Hudson, and Canon Jonathan LLoyd, retired Rector of St. Stephen, West Vancouver and his spouse Sue LLoyd will become Canadian citizens on June 30.

To recognize Indigenous rights, as of June 21, 2021 the citizenship oath now reads:


“I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to her majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, queen of Canada, her heirs and successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada, including the Constitution, which recognizes and affirms the Aboriginal and treaty rights of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen.”

Two very happy new Canadians!  (The Athabasca Glacier picture a few days ago, in anticipation.)  

Bishop John Stephens has accepted the resignation of the Reverend Billy Isenor as Rector of St Mark-Ocean Park effective August 31 and has also accepted the resignation of The Reverend Armand Mercier as Vicar of St Alban, Richmond and Assistant to the Rector, Christ Church Cathedral effective August 31. Both the Reverends Isenor and Mercier are returning to Alberta.

The election of Bishop-Elect Benny Lang-akan in the Diocese of Northern Philippines occurred on June 14. Bishop-elect Benny's ordination to the episcopate is planned for Holy Cross Day (September 14). If you notice that his name has not been added to parish prayer lists along with diocesan companion parishes, please add him or bring the addition to the attention of those in your parish responsible for intercessions.
