Congratulations to the folks of St. Laurence, Coquitlam. On the recommendation of the Canonical Committee, Bishop Skelton has appointed the Reverend Eric Mason (Episcopal Diocese of Olympia) as their next rector. Eric will begin on September 1st.
A Celebration of New Ministry will take place at St. Mary’s, Kerrisdale (SMK) on Tuesday, June 14, 7pm, the Reverends Christine Rowe and Elizabeth Ruder-Celiz will be officially welcomed into their respective ministries as Assistants to the Rector at SMK. All are welcome.
Bishop Skelton has made Cameron Gutjahr of St. Mary’s, Kerrisdale a Postulant for the Priesthood.
Bishop Skelton has moved three Postulants to the status of Ordinands: Ross Bliss, a longtime member of St. Paul’s who will begin his third year of seminary at Huron College; Mark Munn who is completing a placement as Parish Intern at St. Mary's, South Hill with Fr. Expedito Farinas and Lucy Price who is a Student Intern at St. James' with Fr. Kevin Hunt.
Patricia Ratcliffe, currently serving at St Catherine of Alexandria, Port Coquitlam with Archdeacon Karen Urquhart has been made an Ordinand for the Vocational Diaconate by Bishop Skelton.
The Reverend Liz Hamel currently vocational deacon at Christ Church Cathedral and the Anglican Chaplain at Vancouver General Hospital has been moved to Postulant for the Priesthood and will be moved to the status of Ordinand.
Bishop Skelton has also signified her intention to ordain to the Priesthood the Reverend Alex Wilson, curate/deacon at St. Anselm’s and the Reverend Clare Morgan, curate/deacon at St. Philip Dunbar.
The ordinations will take place on Saturday, June 18th, 10:30am at Christ Church Cathedral. Anticipating the Feast of John the Baptist, the liturgical colour will be white.
