The Reverend Brian Heinrich long time pastor of Lutheran Urban Ministries and more recently on the clergy staff of Christ Church Cathedral will began as Vicar of St Bartholomew and St Aidan, Gibsons on October 1. Pastor Brian will succeed the Reverend Ian Nestegaard-Paul who will step down on September 30th having served the parish since October 1, 2013, and completing two extensions. We are grateful for Ian's pastoral gifts and look forward to welcoming Brian into the clergy community after a brief absence.
And, speaking of our Lutheran siblings, the Reverend Vida Jaugelis has been providing pastoral ministry at St David, Delta for the past three years, and most recently as Assistant to the Rector for ministry with Seniors. Vida has been invited to serve as Interim Pastor (part-time) at Redeemer Lutheran, Vancouver and will begin there on October 1.
The Reverend Grant Rodgers has been appointed as the 1/2 time Vicar to Christ the Redeemer, Surrey effective All Saints', Day, 2016. Grant will also continue as the Director of Anglican Formation at Vancouver School of Theology with an increase in that position to 1/2 time, also.
In a new concept for our diocese, the Reverend Pitman Potter longtime deacon at St. Helen, West Point Grey has been licensed as deacon to the Archdeaconry of Vancouver. This arrangement allows Pitman to minister to the parishes of St. Philip’s Dunbar, St. John’s Shaughnessy and St. Anselm’s, as well as continuing his ministry to the West Point Grey Neighbourhood Ministry.
The Reverend Connie Wilks formerly deacon at the Anglican Parish of the Church of the Epiphany, Surrey has been living in Mission since 2014, and has now been licensed as deacon at All Saints, Mission.
