Bishop Michael Ingham announced, at a meeting of the Diocesan Council on June 12th 2012, his appointment of the Very Reverend Peter Elliott as Bishop's Missioner, a quarter time position, to give support and guidance to the clergy and lay leadership of the parishes of St. Matthew's Abbotsford, St. Matthias and St. Luke Vancouver and St John's Shaughnessy, Vancouver as they redevelop these sites as parishes of the Diocese of New Westminster. Dean Elliott will lead a diocesan team to support and guide this work. The appointment is for 1 year, July 1st, 2012, to June 30th, 2013. To support the Dean and the Cathedral parish in these new responsibilities the Bishop has also extended the curacy of the Reverend Chris Dierkes for the same time period. Chris will continue in his priestly ministry at the Cathedral and will also assist the Bishop's Missioner in carrying out this work.
