From noon until 3pm on Saturday, September 29th the Parish of Holy Cross Japanese-Canadian Anglican Church located on Walden and 30th near Main street hosted a Fall Bazaar. The bazaar consisted of yard sale items, baking, crafts, and art. A portion of the Parish Hall was set up as a tea room with a number of delicious items on the menu served to hungry visitors by members of the Holy Cross community.
There was also a raffle that was enthusiastically participated in by those who dropped by.
Prizes included: a turkey for thanksgiving dinner, a gourmet basket of savoury and sweet treats, an electronic foot bath and an elegant tea tray. Diocesan Communications is happy to announce that the Communications Officer of the diocese won the tea tray.
The proceeds from the bazaar will be directed to parish ministries, specifically the capital fund, as the Parish is aware that they will need to replace their roof in the not-to-distant future.
Attendance and support from the neighbourhood was extremely positive with reports that bazaar enthusiasts were lined up to get in well before the 12noon opening.
