Holy Week and Easter Day for 2015, have come and gone and now we celebrate the fifty days that make up the Season of Easter until Pentecost on May 24th.

In the Diocese of New Westminster the 67 parishes and 68 congregations celebrated hundreds of church services with thousands of people participating. Anecdotal reports coming through various different sources into the Synod office are unanimous in their messaging that 2015 was a highlight year for Lent, Holy Week and Easter Day worship and events around the diocese.

Diocesan communications visited a number of different parishes between Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday and it was wonderful to experience the diverse and inspirational range of worship options available. From a traditional Seder Supper in Maple Ridge to an ecumenical Easter morning sunrise service held outdoors by the Fraser river attended by approximately 100 people braving the 2 degrees Celsius temperature.

There are two photo albums posted on the diocesan Facebook page, “Anglican Conversation” chronicling diocesan communication’s Easter journey as well as some other photos that were submitted form other sources around our diocese.

We hope that all of you that have Facebook access will visit these albums and share them with your friends and contacts.
