For the first time in eighteen months, clergy of the diocese gathered in-person at the Synod Office for a Clergy Day focused on Preaching from the Old Testament led by Dr. Mari Joerstad, the new Academic Dean at VST and Professor of Hebrew Bible.

Coffee and snacks were available in the morning but lunch was self-catered. Masks were worn, however, participants were asked to be prepared to remove their masks when asking questions in plenary. Laptops, iPads and Smart phones were recommended as Dr. Joerstad shared information on how to use some online Hebrew Bible digital tools.

This in-person gathering was followed the next day by an online clergy day with Preaching from the gospel of St Luke - The Reverend Dr. Kathy Grieb (via Zoom). Dr. Grieb is retired professor of New Testament at Virginia Theological Seminary and continues to be an active member of the academy.

From November 1-3, clergy of the diocese gather at Loon Lake Retreat Centre for Knitted together in Christ (Colossians 2:2) with the Very Reverend Miguelina Howell as retreat conductor.
