St. Helen’s Anglican Church, Surrey, BC, seeks a qualified musician on piano and pipe organ for the parish's Music Ministry.
Nestled in the heart of Surrey and the Lower Mainland, the congregation is vibrant and growing. The church celebrates 113 years of faithful ministry in November 2025 and is a designated heritage building. The parish is used to having an amateur choir over the years, however, since the COVID-19 Pandemic, the choir has been unable to form as a group. One of our goals is to rebuild the choir and equip them to lead congregational singing during worship.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Rector in planning liturgy, music, and hymn selections for each season. Over time, as the choir develops, additional rehearsal time led by the musician may be required. Additional responsibilities include producing a written Music/Choir Report to be included in the annual Vestry package each year.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, as described in the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) Salary Guidelines.
Applications, with a resume and three references included, will be received until June 30, 2025, or until the post is filled. The wardens and Rector thank all applicants, however only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
