There is a connection to the Diocese of New Westminster in regards to the January 10th announcement of the newly elected Reverend Mother of The Sisterhood of St. John the Divine, Sister Elizabeth Rolfe-Thomas. Raised in the Vancouver area, Sister-soon-to-be Mother Elizabeth is the sibling of David Rolfe, parishioner of St. Stephen's, West Vancouver, who is a long time leader in our Diocese, currently the Returning Officer of the Diocese, and his accounting firm is the diocesan accounting firm of record.
Sister Elizabeth Rolfe-Thomas will succeed Sister Elizabeth Ann Eckert who will retire and after some sabbatical time will take up new duties with the Sisterhood.
Sister Elizabeth will be the seventh Reverend Mother in the 130-year history of the Sisterhood. Her installation will take place in May of 2015.
