The Ven. Stuart Faulks

Stuart Faulks, retired Archdeacon of Kingcome, died March 22 at the age of 96. He had been a priest for 71 years.

Born in England, he moved to Alberta at age 4 with his parents, and after ordination first served in the Diocese of Edmonton.

In New Westminster he was at St. John’s Central Park in Burnaby, St. David’s, Powell River, and Holy Trinity Cathedral in New Westminster. He also served on the diocesan Administration and Finance Committee in retirement.

His wife Isabel Kilshaw Faulks died in 2004. He leaves three children, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. The funeral was at St. Matthew’s, Abbotsford, on March 30.

Bob Fulcher

Bob Fulcher, 65, husband of the Rev. Karin Fulcher, died April 5 of lymphoma after a decade-long struggle with the disease.

Fulcher at the age of 22 began flying DC-3 airliners, retriring at the end of his piloting career of 34 years as a captain of 747-400s.

After retirement, and despite the diagnosis of cancer, he continued to be active, among other things becoming an avid motorcyclist. Besides his wife, he left his mother, two brothers, three children and four grandchildren. The funeral was held at St. David’s, Delta, on April 11, the Rev. Paul Woehrle officiating.
