On October 28, 2020, fifteen members of the Parish of St. Catherine of Alexandra, Port Coquitlam, gathered outside, masked and observing physical distancing protocols as priest-in-charge, the Venerable Richard Leggett invested Mr. Stanley Bruce Middleton into the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster.

Here is his Citation:

Since his arrival at St. Catherine’s in the early 1980’s, Bruce’s quiet, reflective and faithful personality, combined with a passion for Christian education for young people and bible study, have ingrained him into the parish. He is caring and compassionate and befriends the guests at the food bank and soup kitchen. Bruce contributes to parish life by serving many terms on council, including a term as warden, and serving as greeter, lay administrant and intercessor.  He is always quick to volunteer.

Parish members of the ODNW, Ann Blue and Bernie Poitras were present and posed for a photo with Archdeacon Leggett.

The original plan for ODNW 2020, was to have Archbishop Skelton officiate at six Investiture liturgies, two per month over a three month period at six different churches, however the fall wave of COVID-19 is severe and it was decided to shift the investitures to each parish. The parishes have the opportunity to use a liturgy developed by Archbishop Skelton at their church during Sunday worship on or around  All Saints Day or to arrange for a small gathering in-person and online that would work best for that parish.

St. Catherine's chose a Tuesday afternoon outside and from all reports that worked well.
