Photographer Bayne Stanley spent the morning of Thursday, May 15th, 2014, setting up copious amounts of gear in the chancel (near the reredos) of Christ Church Cathedral and downstairs in the Choir Room in order to capture the image of the 9th Bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster, the Right Reverend Melissa Skelton.

<p>Diocesan Communications have had to wait for a few weeks to organize this project as Bishop Melissa has been very busy with a number of out of town trips and there has been a wait for the return of her mitre which had been sent to the east coast of the USA for resizing.

There were three poses shot: the first will be the official photo of the Bishop in vestments, standing with the Pastoral staff of the Diocese of New Westminster. This portrait will be circulated to parishes around the diocese. The second is a photo of Bishop Melissa seated on the Cathedra under the canopy in the Christ Church Cathedral chancel and the third is Bishop Melissa's "headshot." The headshot was taken in the Cathedral's choir room.

There is a plan for distributing hard copies of the photos to parishes but as of this writing the plan is unconfirmed so stay tuned. Soft copy files of the photos will be available soon.

Many thanks to Bayne for his diligence, patience and sharing of his skills.
