Although the weather in the Greater Vancouver Area on Palm Sunday, April 2 was diverse to say the least, the eastern Fraser Valley was dry with some cloud. The stable weather meant that the parish could get outside and process!
Here are a few photos sent into diocesan comms by Interim Priest-in-Charge,  the Reverend Lorie Martin.

PHOTOS
  • This image is of members of the congregation processing down First Street downtown Chilliwack singing, “Lord, we lift up your name, with our hearts full of praise. Be exalted O Lord, our God. Hosanna in the highest.”
  • This image of the procession shows the church building from a POV that is a very similar image to the photo on the front cover of the Anglican Canadian Church Calendar for 2023 – The Parish's 150th Anniversary year (sesquicentennial)!
  • A parish elder (95 years) ready for the procession
  • A young member of the parish walking with a cedar bough and wearing one of the wooden crosses
  • This younger member of the congregation is thrilled to carry the Cross. “On this day our Lord Jesus Christ entered the holy city of Jerusalem in triumph.”
  • Committed to faith, marching down the streets and around the church! “Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord.”
  • Ready to process
