Young Girl in Haiti pumping water when fresh water became available

Canadian Anglicans continue to support earthquake response by ACT (Action by Churches Together) International through the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF). PWRDF was eligible for CIDA matching funds collected between January 12 and February 12, 2010, and continues to raise funds for relief and future development efforts.
Thanks to Canadian donors, over $1.14M has been received by PWRDF from individual donors. Many parishes are donating as well and there will be more information about the total amounts from those gifts very soon. Together, Anglicans are making a difference for a strong and healthy future for Haiti. Please keep the people of Haiti in your thoughts and prayers as the story of this catastrophically damaged country has fallen off the radar somewhat and hurricane season is around the corner.

PWRDF is monitoring the earthquake relief needs in Chile and is prepared to respond as ACT International identifies areas of need. Chilean President Michelle Bachelet has met with ACT members for discussions on the emergency response and ACT is assessing the situation with local partners and will decide whether to offer further assistance. Diocesan Communications will continue to be in contact with national agencies and will provide information on the website if PWRDF initiates a fund for relief efforts in Chile.
