On November 20, the Parish of St. Anselm’s celebrated the Reign of Christ, giving thanks to God for making us partners in the work of the Primate's World Relief Fund (PWRDF) . By our immersion and participation in the work of PWRDF we are always reminded, that we are recreating the joyful kingdom of God on earth. By each person's engagement in this compassionate work that extends across Canada and all over the world, we become partners in the sustainable development, emergency relief, refugee settlement and global justice and peace, thus living into our baptismal covenant.

The intercessory prayers were written in English to be included in the PWRDF information package. Thanks for the beautiful prayers offered in Hindi (Edwin); Vietnamese (Thuy); Cantonese (Kin); German (Rosie), and Korean (Jungeun) bringing languages of the world in giving praise to God. The current messaging from the PWRDF focusses on the creation of a new world of joy & thanksgiving by engaging prayerfully in small acts of kindness in one’s own environment.

As usual, all the dishes for the lunch and the cakes were gift offerings to raise funds for PWRDF gratefully given by myself and partener, Daniel. Thanks to Sam for the most uplifting organ prelude & postlude as well as the worship music. Thanks to the Reverend Alex Wilson for the many ways that he supported the event as well as to Heather, Edwin, Thuy, Marian, Kin, and Maren who helped with all aspects of the Luncheon set up and clean up. Each one of you brought your time and energy to make this a grand success.

And many thanks, dear Parish family for joining in the Indian vegetarian lunch & special PWRDF chocolate cake by generously donating to support the work of PWRDF. We exceeded beyond our expectation, by raising $2,070. Thanks be to God.
