Sylvia Joyce Laughlin, ODNW died on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Chilliwack, BC, age 89 years. She was born January 22, 1931 in Parkbeg, SK.
 Sylvia is survived by Hugh, her husband of 70 years, children, Lynn, Gail, Joanne and Steven (Winona), grandchildren, Ryan, Andrea, Megan, Landon, Carly, Braydon and Tristan, great grandchildren, Lauren and Jack and sister, Rosemary. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond, sister, Joan, granddaughter, Melanie and best friend/sister-in-law, Marion.


Sylvia was actively involved in service at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Rosedale and later at All Saints Anglican Church, Agassiz. She was honoured by the Anglican Church, invested into Order of the Diocese of New Westminster on November 1, 2015.


The Citation read out at her investiture is as follows:

Sylvia and her sister-in-law Marion were mainstays of St. Peter's, Rosedale. They raised funds by selling quilts, planted gardens, mowed the lawn, sewed banners, and even painted the interior of the church and the hall by themselvese. When membership fell off leading to St. Peter's closing, Sylvia worked hard to encourage people to move to All Saints', Agassiz , building bridges for a smooth transition.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Valleyhaven for their compassion and loving care.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 13 at 2pm at Henderson's Funeral Home, Chilliwack, BC.
Memorial Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society.
