Back in late November of 2009, Diocesan Communications contacted St. Chad's Incumbent the Rev. Paulina Lee and St. Chad's Parish Administrator Andrew Ng and asked them if they would translate Bishop Michael's Pastoral Letter regarding the BC Supreme Court decision about parish assets into Chinese.
Paulina and Andrew although busy with Advent preparation immediately agreed and within hours a translation arrived ready to be posted and downloaded. When Communications Officer Randy Murray conveyed the gratitude of the diocese to Paulina and asked if there was anything that she needed, Paulina replied that a box of chocolates would be nice and then she laughed.
Well a year went by and no chocolates were offered. On November 16th, 2010 Randy called Paulina and Andrew again and without hesitation they produced a beautifully typewritten print ready translation of Bishop Michael's November 21st Pastoral Letter about the BC Court of Appeal results regarding the same ongoing litigation. So on November 30th Communications Committee Chair, Jane Osler took a trip to St. Chad's to extend to Paulina and Andrew a small token of our appreciation (mixed dark and milk chocolate hard centres).
The February 2011 issue of Topic, the diocesan monthly newspaper will feature a story on St. Chad's Ministry. Stay tuned.
