St Agnes Anglican Church is pleased to announce that this year’s community partner for our annual fundraising Gala scheduled for Saturday, October 4th, 6-10pm at St Agnes is the Sharing Abundance Association (sharingabundance.ca).
For the last two years we have partnered with Sharing Abundance to provide a monthly “Senior’s Moment” luncheon. This has been a very successful way of connecting with local people by providing them with restaurant quality meals in an inviting setting with their friends and neighbours for a voluntary donation. The overwhelming success of this program has indicated there is an unmet need in our community.
Our next goal with Sharing Abundance is to expand our partnership to offer weekly senior’s lunches. This commitment to our community requires a significant upgrade to our kitchen facilities.
We have already been the recipient of generous donations in support of our kitchen upgrade, including some new appliances, and have applied for government grants and other funds. However, we need to raise further funds to make this a professional-quality kitchen.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Gala, this year’s event will be grand and memorable. “Under the Harvest Moon” will feature entertainment by The Howlers, a renowned local rhythm & blues band (that features our priest on the drums), Live, Silent, and Balloon Auctions, a Gourmet Meal provided by Chef Bette Geddes of Sharing Abundance, all within our beautifully decorated Church Hall.
We anticipate approximately 100 guests and hope to raise $10,000!!
