Come on a journey - a journey to South Surrey, a journey of faith, the “Journey of Christmas.” This year is St. Mark’s Ocean Park seventh annual “Journey of Christmas” which has become a tradition for many people in the community.

The “Journey of Christmas” is a 25-minute guided walk-through Christmas display set in the woods behind St. Mark’s at in South Surrey. In the woods are nine theatres with mannequins, a mural, props and a CD audio soundtrack.

Last year all the new additions proved very popular with over 2,000 visitors. At the front of the church in full view of the parking lot is a façade which captures the attention of everyone who comes, even those who drive by on 20th Ave.

The facade captures the journey theme and was painted by Judy Toney. For the first time this year, we plan to have Christmas music playing in the courtyard. After your “journey” you are invited into the hall for hot chocolate and carol-singing.

If you wish to take a break from the hectic pace of the Christmas rush, stop by St. Mark’s “Journey of Christmas,” relax, walk through the woods, sit down and sing carols and take in the real meaning of Christmas.

“The Journey of Christmas” opens on Dec. 14 and goes until Dec. 28 from 6-9 pm with a 3:30 pm opening on Dec. 24. The display is closed on Christmas Day. St. Mark’s is at 12953-20th Ave. in South Surrey.
