Congratulations Richard “Celebrating 30 Years of Ministry”

The Rev. Paula Porter Leggett and St. Faith’s put together quite a celebration for the 30th Anniversary of The Rev Dr. Richard Leggett’s ordination to the Priesthood. We were not sure we would be able to keep it a secret but with a little bit of subterfuge we did and Richard walked into St. Faith’s Hall on Jan 2nd to a room full of people calling out “Surprise”. Paula gave a wonderful summary of Richard’s many accomplishments in his 30 years of ministry and presented him with a beautifully hand carved fountain pen.

In a letter Bishop Michael said of him, “[Richard showed]... leadership on issues that have been significant in the life of the Church, not only in liturgy, but issues of justice such as the ordination of women, the blessing of same-sex unions, and the recovery of the role of the diaconate in the life of our community.”

The gathering included people from different areas of Richard’s life and ministry who enjoyed food, companionship and the opportunity to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
