Ann McCallum of Christ Church Cathedral helping a Moberly Elementary School student learn to read

The Diocese's Coming Home Society which runs the Young Wolves Lodge, an alcohol and drug recovery house for young Aboriginal women, is looking for a retiree who would like to spend a couple of hours every second week doing the little home repair jobs that would help us keep the house in good condition. We are very proud of our building and are trying our best to keep it well maintained on a very limited budget.

The Society will ask for an interview, an understanding of confidentiality, and a police check. For more information contact Linda Adams at 604 433-8047.

Volunteers needed-Might you be called to a prison minstry?

Volunteers are needed at the Pacific Institution to lead Bible study, play music, host a book club, lead meditation, support parenting skills, and many other activities. A volunteer co-ordinator to work 2 to 3 hours a week is also needed. All interested in exploring ministry to prisoners should contact the Rev. Helen Tervo at 604 870-7732 for more information.
