What kind of city do we want  is  the question organizations that are members of Metro Vancouver  asked  at the recent MVA Housing Assembly.

We named this gathering, Belonging amidst the housing crisis and the answer is clear: A city where we all belong...

We need our institutions to engage in deep listening on this topic with their own members to discern whether we have the power - or willingness to build the power - to find solutions to belonging amidst the housing crisis.

Our diocese is a Sponsoring Organization with Metro Vancouver Alliance and some of our parishes including the Eco-Justice Unit are Member Organizations of MVA.

Question:

Are there any parishes or members of parishes in our diocese who would want to engage this question with stories of what folks say about belonging in the midst of the housing crisis and how we can work for solutions through the Metro Vancouver Alliance?

Anyone interested in having  a listening session for their parish or to get together with folks from other parishes, please be in touch with me. I can share the Listening model of MVA with you and keep in touch with you in what you hear. Or for any other inquiries about this, you are welcome to be in  touch. Please let me know  in the next few weeks, June 3-20 if any parishes or individuals in parishes would like to engage in this.

The Rev. Margaret Marquardt, Chair, The Eco-Justice Unit
