St. Augustine’s, Marpole has been a pillar of the community for over 110 years.
With a congregation of less than 50, it’s a small church, with a big impact on the community - they call themselves ‘the little Church that could.’

PWRDF matches donations for Ukraine with four other humanitarian responses

PWRDF matches donations for Ukraine with four other humanitarian responses

In the first month of the war in Ukraine, donors gave $360,000 to PWRDF. Recently PWRDF Executive Director Will Postma announced they are taking the same amount from reserves to support humanitarian relief in Myanmar, Iraq, Ethiopia and Syria.

“We are doing so at a time when we are concerned for the people of Ukraine, the loss of peace and so many lives, but also recognize the many other humanitarian crises around the world that need financial support.”

Colouring inside the lines by Art Turnbull

As a young student in elementary school, I was taught to colour within the lines. Teacher said so! It took me a few years to get it right. Some classmates never got it straight. As adults some of these "outside the lines" people drive their vehicles (especially pick-up trucks) outside and over the lines. .

Parish Development Grants for 2023

Parish Development Grants for 2023

On March 27, 2022, Laetare Sunday, the Program Development Grants Team of the Diocese of New Westminster launched the PD Grants program for 2023.

The overall purpose of Parish Development Grants is to assist parishes in the diocese as they develop, with God’s help, into healthier, more faithful, and more effective communities of faith. We are interested, therefore, in making grants to parishes that have a vision for their own development and would like diocesan assistance in moving toward the vision.

Intent to Apply forms and information sheets are now on the diocesan website here and there is a a firm submission deadline of August 30, 2022.
